Newspaper Rock

We stopped at Newspaper Rock, which is covered with petroglyphs.

The oldest petroglyphs on the rock are thought to be about 2000 years old. They’re the faintest, seen at the top here. The most recent carvings that we saw were from April of 2008.

I thought this mounted hunter was particlarly vivid. It can’t be any more than about 300 years old, since the time that horses arrived around here.
